We have reviewed the Jumia express storage fee downwards based on your feedback and this will take effect from 1st October 2020.
1. <b>What is Jumia Express Storage Fee?</b>
Jumia Express Storage Fees are charged for items stored in the Jumia Warehouse. It covers part of the warehousing, pick-listing and other handling costs.The storage fee is based on the number of days your item stays in Jumia’s Warehouse.
2. <b>Why is it changing?</b>
In line with our steadfast commitment to providing high-quality fulfilment services for our vendors, we have reviewed the Jumia Express storage fees so that it is:
- Completely free for the first 2 weeks for each item.
- Cheaper than before if your items sell out within a month.
3. <b>What is it changing to?</b>
The new model is made up of a base fee (the same we charged previously) and a multiplicator to be applied to the base fee according to the time spent at the warehouse by each item. See example in the table below.
With this review, warehouse storage will be FREE, provided that your items sell out within the first 2 weeks. It will become more expensive only if the items spend more than 5 weeks at the warehouse. Please note that you’ll always be able to retrieve your items from the warehouse before the fee becomes excessive.
4.<b>When will I be charged?</b>
The accrued storage fee charge for your items on Jumia Express will be applied to your Seller Centre Account Weekly.
For instance, if an item is loaded into the warehouse on the 31st of August and is sold on the 6th of September, the applicable storage fee for this item will be for 7 days, as the item is sold (and leaves the warehouse) on the 7th day.
This storage fee will reflect in your Seller Centre statement for that specific week.
