What is a TIN?
TIN stands for Tax Identification Number. It is a unique identification number for taxpayers in Nigeria.
Why do I need a TIN?
The Federal government has mandated businesses to pay their income taxes. Hence, Jumia would like to ensure business with all our valued vendors is done in accordance with the Nigerian Law.

What you will need
Vendors with an unregistered Company
1 Form of identification is required (Intl. passport, driver’s license, National identity card) Non Nigerians should have a valid passport data page.

Visit the nearest FIRS office to fill a ‘TAXPAYER REGISTRATION INPUT FORM’. Note that only the original form from the FIRS should be used.
Vendors with a registered Company but no TIN
**Registering for a TIN is free of charge and valid for 10 years.
There is a process called TIN update and validation after obtaining a TIN. This ensures that the new TIN is confirmed and meets all other important conditions for business registration and transaction with other government parastatals and bodies like the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) among others.
