How Do I Opt for Advanced Insurance in Nigeria?

Adding Advanced Insurance to your Jumia Delivery shipment is simple:

1. Prepare Your Package: As usual, ensure your item is securely packed for shipping.
2. At the PUS/VDO: When you take your package to your Jumia Pick-Up Station (PUS) or Vendor Drop-Off (VDO) for shipping via Jumia Delivery, inform the Jumia agent before your shipment is processed that you wish to opt for Advanced Insurance.
3. Declare Value: The agent will require you to declare the value of the item(s) being shipped. It’s important to provide an accurate value.
4. Fee Confirmation & Calculation: The agent will confirm the additional fee for the Advanced Insurance. For Nigeria, this is calculated as a fixed amount of NGN 1,500 plus 5% of the declared value of your item(s).
5. Payment: The Advanced Insurance fee will be added to your total shipping cost, payable upfront at the PUS/VDO.
6. Confirmation: Ensure your receipt or shipping documentation reflects that Advanced Insurance has been applied to your package and notes the declared value.

Important Notes (Nigeria):

• Advanced Insurance is an optional service, and the fee (NGN 1,500 + 5% of declared value) is charged in addition to the standard shipping cost.
• Specific terms, conditions, precise coverage limits, and the list of items eligible (or ineligible) for Advanced Insurance apply. Please ask the PUS agent for these details or refer to our Website.
• It is highly recommended to have proof of the item’s value (like an original purchase invoice) in case a claim needs to be made.
